Once hazards have been identified, the next step is to assess the risks associated with those hazards. Risk assessment involves determining the likelihood of a hazard causing harm and the potential severity of that harm. This typically involves analyzing the frequency and severity of potential incidents, as well as considering the effectiveness of existing control measures. By conducting a thorough risk assessment, organizations can prioritize their efforts to control the most significant risks first.

Risk control is the final step in the process and involves implementing measures to eliminate or reduce the risks identified during the assessment phase. This may include implementing engineering controls, administrative controls, or personal protective equipment to mitigate the potential impact of hazards on employees and the organization. It is important for organizations to regularly review and update their risk control measures to ensure they remain effective and continue to protect employees from harm.
